In fact, I dought this book simply because the beautiful and unique cover plus it has on sale when I was buying other books…so ta dah! I finished one of the most shocking book I’ve ever read. And I gave it 4 stars…in a very different reason. But I can now understand why people read, why they like to get lost in somebody else's life. Sometimes I'll read a sentence and it will make me sit up, jolt me, because it is something that I have recently felt but never said out loud. I want to reach into the page and tell the characters that I understand them, that they're not alone, that I'm not alone, that it's ok to feel like this. Serafina and the Splinted Heart By Robert Beatty     First thing first…it’s still a good book.   But   Here comes the big BUT.   I’ll leave that to the spoiler. So, don’t say I didn’t warn you, since you’ve probably seen tons of great review about this book, most of them five stars. And…the rate is probably driven down by me…   The review after the introduction of this book won’t be too…highly praise.   Now…as I said, it’s still a good book and worth reading, and I’d still recommend it to all middle-grade students who love this kind of reading genre.
