Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices Series 2)
Lord of Shadows
By Cassandra Clare
Not to mention I’ll be at my junior year of college!!! (That’s so terrifying!!!! Not to mention Julian and Emma won’t age a bit!)
And the ending!!!!! The ending!!!! The last part of book is basically playing with my miserable heart and twisted and shattering it into tiny tiny pieces. I’m no longer the Vivian you think you know…I’m the remnant of Lord of Shadows and who am I actually?
This. Is. One. Of. The. Best. From.
Cassandra. Clare. Ever!!!!! I love how the stories are all connected and the
old characters we loved appear once again…however, can we ensure their
safety??? Please??? I hate how Cassandra Clare make them appeared for one sec
and then disappear from the entire book…which make my mind wonder all the time…and
it’s not ok, it’s definitely not ok!!! I need all of them!!! I need Jace and Clary
to be safe, I need Alec and Magnus to be find, I need Izzy and Simon to show up
after their wedding!!!!! I need everything!!!! I need Tessa and Jem to be fine
as well!!!! Please!!!! I need them all!!! And all the Blackthorns!!!!
It’s one
of the greatest thing that Cassandra Clare brings all the characters together…while
the rest of us can only finger-crossed that all of them will survive till the
end…especially now…when Clary… (cough) Right, one of the other reasons why I
love this so much is…gosh…the romance. Cassandra Clare writes one of the best
romance. I hate pure romance, or urban romance…something like that…but…TMI,
TID, TDA…how can you not love them? Every page, every line, I was being
tortured by Mark, Cristina, Emma, and Julian. Especially Julian and Emma!!!!! My
heart twisted!!!! I can’t…I need to breathe, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale.
Fine. I’m a little bit back to myself; otherwise, I’m going to go insane. Oh…I
love every moment of Julian and Emma, btw, what is their ship name? They
definitely need to be together, regardless of everything. Even though…it’s
quite a chaos now…yet…this is the moment they need to be together most. I hate
the idea of having them separate. Oh! And the dark war is coming, again. I’m
not sure when or how…but it’s coming. And Zara definitely needs to die. Who is
she? A bitch. (The review has suddenly gone so dark…)
SPOILER ALERT
By Cassandra Clare
Emma, everyone's
afraid of something. We fear things because we value them. We fear losing
people because we love them. We fear dying because we value being alive. Don't
wish you didn't fear anything. All that would mean is that you didn't feel
anything.
My heart just broken…why????
WHY??? Cassandra Clare, WHY???? How can you do this to us? No to mention we’ll
have to wait for The Queen of Air and Darkness!!!!! NOOOOO!!!!! HOW CAN I
SURVIVE FOR TWO YEARS???
Not to mention I’ll be at my junior year of college!!! (That’s so terrifying!!!! Not to mention Julian and Emma won’t age a bit!)
And the ending!!!!! The ending!!!! The last part of book is basically playing with my miserable heart and twisted and shattering it into tiny tiny pieces. I’m no longer the Vivian you think you know…I’m the remnant of Lord of Shadows and who am I actually?
All right, enough of the drama. I must admit…Cassandra
Clare’s writing is really getting better and better. I don’t love every book of
The Mortal Instruments series…but City of the Heavenly Fire is definitely epic
and heart-winched. I do love The Infernal Devices, not to mention how I face
Clockwork Princess. Now…I face that kind of emotion in every page of Lord of
Shadows. The plot twists, the characters, the laughter, the tears…all of them.
Would you trade your soul mate for your
soul?
A Shadowhunter’s life is bound by duty.
Constrained by honor. The word of a Shadowhunter is a solemn pledge, and no vow
is more sacred than the vow that binds parabatai, warrior partners—sworn to
fight together, die together, but never to fall in love.
Their only hope is the Black Volume of the
Dead, a spell book of terrible power. Everyone wants it. Only the Blackthorns
can find it. Spurred on by a dark bargain with the Seelie Queen, Emma; her best
friend, Cristina; and Mark and Julian Blackthorn journey into the Courts of
Faerie, where glittering revels hide bloody danger and no promise can be
trusted. Meanwhile, rising tension between Shadowhunters and Downworlders has
produced the Cohort, an extremist group of Shadowhunters dedicated to
registering Downworlders and “unsuitable” Nephilim. They’ll do anything in
their power to expose Julian’s secrets and take the Los Angeles Institute for their
own.
When Downworlders turn against the Clave, a
new threat rises in the form of the Lord of Shadows—the Unseelie King, who
sends his greatest warriors to slaughter those with Blackthorn blood and seize
the Black Volume. As dangers close in, Julian devises a risky scheme that
depends on the cooperation of an unpredictable enemy. But success may come with
a price he and Emma cannot even imagine, one that will bring with it a
reckoning of blood that could have repercussions for everyone and everything they
hold dear.
Because
that’s my emotion now!!!! I can’t stand to be parted with it for two years!!! (Breathe…)
And…there were so many horrible characters as well!!!!! Cassandra Clare really
knew how to create great villains…I want to kill them myself whenever I see
them. Now…just move to the spoiler part? I need to express my feelings with
spoilers…YOU ARE WARNED!

Spoiler Center—YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
All
dreams end when you wake.
Yes, from the last cliff hanger…we
knew that Emma and Julian can’t be together…not because of the stupid law. It’s
so heartbroken!!!! I need them to be together...they must! Well…so Emma and
Mark began their fake romance…and in the meantime…Mark can’t resist the charm
of Christina. Well…it recalled to me…this is such a large book!!!! I am trying
really hard to recall everything.
And then…the chaos began. First, the bitch
came, then the crazy warlock was here...was. He…really appeared only a little
this time, but enough for causing more problems. Oh! Who is he? Malcolm. You
said what? He is died? Indeed…but is a warlock so easily died? Apparently not.
So he was back and causing another round of problems…and killed by Annabel.
REALLY DRAMATIC, RIGHT? I had no word to say when that happened. Oh…and the
death…it truly gave the Blackthorns a shock. But…I must admit…I wasn’t too
surprise. Now…who is the bitch? Zara, please…she is the most hateful character
in the book. Even the Unseelie King isn’t as hateful as her. Trust me, he isn’t.
Usually, from my observed…the most hateful one is usually their characteristic,
not their evilness. And…Zara…just send her under the prison of Silent Brother,
please? I have enough of her. Let the better characters appear. I need Jamie
back, I need more old characters…I need to know what happened to Tessa and Jem,
especially now it seems, all the warlocks are sick.
And…in respond to the previous argument inside
the bookish community, about the “diversity” thing…I really love how Cassandra
Clare is one of the authors who brought this issues into the books first.
We all have wounds that are
sometimes better cared for by somone else.
I almost forgot our dearest Diana, or should I say, David? But you know
what? If she chose to be Diana, then she’ll forever be the bravest goddess of
the hunt to us. And the most exciting thing is…she was dating with Gywn!!!!! How
unexpected!!!! It occurred to me that…isn’t it a bit tricky? Her name is Diana,
the goddess of hunt…and Gywn is the leader of wild hunt???
If the connection is true…I love
it. I absolutely love it. And you know what? I believe faeries can be really
awesome, just as the Nephilim are. Now, we wouldn’t want to spoil all the fun,
will we? JUST READ THIS BOOK!!!! IT IS ONE OF THE BEST OF 2017!!!!
