  So…my Shadowhunter world marathon has failed. I plan to read TMI and TID series in nine day…but I stop at Clockwork Angel, and left half of it at Taiwan till I come back for New York. So now…when should you actually read The Infernal Devices? What’s the best timing? Well…since it’s the prequel to The Mortal Instruments series, it won’t hurt to read first at all. But you’ll be a bit confused at the end of Clockwork Princess. To read after finishing The Mortal Instruments series? That’ll also do…just confused with “Tessa” and “Brother Zachariah.” Oh wait! No!!! You won’t be confuse about them even you didn’t read The Infernal Devices!!! What about following the Cassandra Clare’s publish number? Well…that will be the perfect timing. Why? Because she’d already finished publishing both of the series. So…I guess no matter which way you read doesn’t matter at all!!! Just enjoy the story!!! (So you must think this large paragraph insane…I’m just getting you inside the story!!!)

  Am I the only one who didn’t find any romance between Tessa and Jem? I know this is a love triangle series…but at least in the first one…I don’t think I feel anything sparkle between Tessa and Jem…or perhaps it does? Just that I didn’t notice? I don’t know, at least I’m sure that Tessa care for Will. Will…one of the number one fictional boyfriends out there, right? Let’s see what gets you.  

 

  So…it’s hard for me to tell about this book….since I’m now almost finish with the series. But it’s definitely a great series!!! Yes, Tessa is an ordinary girl about to discover her identity…but no, it’s totally different from the TMI series. Tessa isn’t a Shadowhunter…not exactly, so the first part of Clockwork Angel focus on Tessa’s ability…and then the Shadowhunters came!!!

 And you might ask…why did I give it merely four stars if it’s so great? Well…I need to save one star for the last book in this series!!! The only thing I complain is the same with The Mortal Instruments series is that both the paragraph and the story line are too long. I love big books, enormous books. It gives us much more development toward characters and the plots. However, Clockwork Angel does great on Tessa’s development…but the story line somehow too long, and it might cause a bit…laziness to read. You need some time to get into the book to keep on reading the entire series, but once you’ve pass the “development” part…you can no longer put down the book, it’s simply so wonderful and exciting.

  I must say, The Infernal Devices is a perfect series for dark story lovers, especially Clockwork Angel. The entire book seems to be surrounded by dark mist. If The Mortal Instruments is light, than The Infernal Devices is definitely dark.

   Dark and mysterious. Even the characters had their own dark secrets. (Especially Will!!! Someone running through…) Tessa got her unknown power, Jem was surrounded by death…and Will…well…no one knows. And yet…this makes you want to know them better, want to see through them. So I’d say Cassandra Clare did an awesome job at writing dark story and dark characters.

  Now…light up your torches and walk into the dark story of Clockwork Angel!
