Mockingjay (The Hunger Games Series 3)
Mockingjay
By Suzanne Collins
My name is Katniss Everdeen.
Why am I not dead?
I should be dead.
BOOM! A revolution is about to begin! After the 75th Hunger
Game, Katniss now face the trouble she brings: the revolution. She must choose
to become one of them, to be the Mockingjay, or she can be the one she used to
be, the girl who protects herself and her family, and hides from all the
problems in the world. Well…that’s a bit not fair, but in this book, we can see
the new Katniss Everdeen, the Girl on Fire. Ready to join the rebellion? Join
the Mockingjay? Look down below for the summary and embrace the final battle of
Katniss: the 76th Hunger Game!
Katniss
Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed.
Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the
Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new
leaders. A revolution is unfolding.
It
is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting
Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the
revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is
plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the
carefully laid plans--except Katniss.
The
success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to
accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the
future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and
distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay--no matter what the personal
cost.
Wait…76th
Hunger Game? What’s that? I thought we’re having a revolution? Well…that’s
right. But the excitement of the revolution is just like Hunger Game, you shall
never know what’ll happen next, what’ll you meet and face. To me, this book
might be the last favorite of the entire series. Why? For the first time we
read Hunger Game, we’ll be dragged in by its excitement and how Katniss survive
in the game. And then Catching Fire released, what we read is dipper, not just
for the excitement, but also for the choices they made. Their lives might be
depended on their next step. But then till now, Mockingjay, this book is just…too
political! All is about rebellion, revolution, and battle. Well…I know that’s
what a revolution is…but it still feels boring to read that in book, especially
there are so many interesting things happen in the previous books! But I think it’s
the advantages and disadvantages of this book. For the first time, Katniss must
face her future and her own heart. She was now the motivation of thousands and
hundreds of rebellion, if she stood up, people would be encourage, and as we
all know, President Snow’s revenges would be more. But if she chose to stand
behind all those problems, people might lost their hope and the revolution
would die, in that case, people would once again being forced to suffer, and to
accept the consequences of rebel. We can see Katniss really changed in this
part, her burden was now not only her family, but the common wealth of all. Well…it
won’t be hard for you to know what her choice was, right? As for her heart,
with Peeta being kidnapped, her time with Gale increased. But if she never chose,
her heart wouldn’t be satisfied. According to Gale, she would choose the one
she couldn’t leave without. Inside this book, not only Katniss, but we can also
read many characters speaking out their secrets and how they feel. Those who
looked brave and brutal might scared as well, and those who looked useless
might just as well become the hero of revolution. So this is the advantages of
the book. But on the contrary, the political part was boring. While you expect
to read some…umm…bloodly part, and then they kept talking about the army, and
how Katniss should shoot for the revolution video. I know, that’s essential for
the book…but not fun to read at all! You can only enjoy their dialogues while
passing those times.
Besides
the plots, we can be introduced to a lot of people in this book. Well…some
readers don’t like too many characters in the book, but once you’ve read those
epic novels…this will be nothing for you. Although when Katniss was going out
for the shooting, all the following staffs sometime confuse me since I read
extremely fast, but…just as I said, nothing compared to Game of Throne or other
epic novels. A piece of cake. What I think is great about this book is that
even though there are so many new characters, you can read ever of them
carefully. Every different person has their own behavior and what they speak is
different as well. Unlike some book with too many characters who all look
alike, Mockingjay doesn’t have this kind of problem. So I think it’s great!
Now…lady
and gentlemen, ready to experience the 76th Hunger Game for
yourselves? This time, not only tributes will be inside the game, but the
entire country is the arena and all people become tributes. Including you!!! Prepare
to fight for your lives! And remember: stay alive.
