Unpopular Book Tag
Unpopular Book Tag
It is always a horrible thing that not
everyone loves your favorite books. I respect you, though…but it’s so great to
find others with the same opinions of yours! Yet today…I’m not going to write a
popular book tag…I’m doing an unpopular book tag!
1. A
POPULAR BOOK OR SERIES THAT YOU LIKE & EVERYONE ELSE DOESN’T.
Before I started my
book blog…I’ll go to Twilight. It gets so many praises and
negative comments on the same time! But after I read more books…I feel it
boring and the romance…was horrible. Still…I love all the characters and some
of their interactions are fun to read…except Bella, Edward, and Jacob. (Wait…those
are the protagonists? Yeap…I never like them.) Besides Twilight Sags, I’ll also
pick The
Beautiful Creatures series. I love the first book,
but it seems that many people get bored toward the end of the series. Well…when
I was reading this book…I skipped some part of it and never re-read them. But I
like the ending and I will probably pick it up again in the future…whenever I
got time. Also, I love the movie…except for the plot twisting part! It’s
completely different from the book! But I still love it…but the poster was too
similar to Twilight!!! I hope the producer can change the poster.
2. A
BOOK WITH A LOVE TRIANGLE WHERE THE PROTAGONIST ENDS UP WITH THE WRONG DUDE.
I hate love
triangle. I hate love triangle. I hate love triangle. Oh! Wait! Only the type that our beloved
protagonist fell in love with both of the boys and both of the boys love her…so
we went through a journey of—love him…no I love the other guy…wait! I love the
first guy! I hated that…to me…you can only fall in love with one of them at a
time!!! Don’t fall in love with two guys! That is horrible!!! But…if the
protagonist has her clear choice, but the other guys fall in love with her…I’m
ok with that. As long as she remain with her first choice. Like Lia and Rafe in
The Remnant Chronicles!!! But I feel so sorry for Kaden…since he falls in love
with Lia…but it’s clear that… (Cough!) But…anyway…I hope Kaden can fall in love
with Pauline! She’s such a sweet girl and deserves to be loved. Oh right, back
to the protagonist who ends up with the wrong guy…I’ll go to Wings! I know it’s a not so popular
series YA…but it is kind of famous in Taiwan…at least…used to. But I never
satisfied with Lauerel and Tamani. And I’m angry with David as well. I know
Lauerel and Tamani are both fairies and suits together…but I just don’t like
Tamani! I think Lauerel should be with David! As for David, he said something
about “oh! That’s not Lauerel I was concerned about..” I’m really angry with
that. I don’t know why…but simply hated it.
3. POPULAR
GENRE YOU HARDLY EVER GO FOR WHEN YOU NEED A BOOK
Contemporary. Really…I hardly go
for contemporary. I think I might read some before…but I forget the title of
the series, it’s about three girls. But…I don’t know whether I’ll like
contemporary or not…just since there’re still so many book on to-read list…I
could hardly have time to start with contemporary! Perhaps you can recommend
some to me!
4. POPULAR
BELOVED BOOK CHARACTER YOU DON’T LIKE
Edward ,Bella, and Jacob from Twilight
Saga. Definitely the three of them.
Even though I like this series before…before I considered it as silly, I’ve
always disliked the three of them. My favorite character in this series was
actually Jane. Really, don’t question me. I think their romance and love lives
are so stupid!!! I never, ever like them. If you must ask my favorite couple in
Stephenie Mayer’s books…I’ll go to Ian and Wanda, I still love them really
much! At least they’re not fall in love because of some stupid reasons.
5. POPULAR
BOOK TROPE YOU’RE TIRED OF SEEING
Dystopia…definitely dystopia. I’m tired
of all those dystopia book. Wait…I thought you like An Ember in the Ashes,
Vivian? Well…that’s an exception. After reading Hunger Game, the wonderful
dystopia story…I feel no desire to read more. Like Divergent and The Maze Runner…no
interest at all! But…no as I’m reading original books…I might pick up some
dystopia in the future. Oh! And I’m definitely going to finish An Ember in the
Ashes series…this series is wonderful!!! I love it! And…I think Red Queen is
also dystopia…? I’m not sure…but I’m going to read it anyway.
6.
POPULAR SERIES
YOU’RE NOT GOING TO READ
Divergent, absolutely Divergent.
I know all of you love this series…but I just don’t like it at all!!! It seems
so similar to Hunger Game! I’ve watched the first movie…and read the ending of
this series…but nope…I’ve no interested to pick this series up. I’m sorry! But
I don’t like the story. Also besides Divergent…I’m not going to read The Maze Runner series as well. I’ve
watched the movie, the first and the second, they’re great, but I feel no
temptation to read this series. I don’t know why!!! Please don’t hate me for
watching the movie without reading! But…that’s what happens in both of the
series. I remember when I finished The Host’s movie than I rushed to read the
book…but after I watched bother of the movie, one of them made me wanted to
watch the second, and the other doesn’t interested me in anyway. So…I probably
won’t read both of the series…not even in the future…unless I get free
books…then…perhaps?
So…what’s your opinion on those unpopular
book tags? I think it is ok for reader to dislike or love the books while
others don’t. Everyone has different taste, right? And I’ll love to discuss
those questions with all of you! It is so great to exchange ideas of books with
others!!! Book blogs and tubes are growing!!! Yeah!!! And leave your comment
below!
Oh, I have a sh*t ton of contemporary YA to recommend... >:D
ReplyDeleteAristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz (super long title, I know.)(friendship + family + identity exploring = fabulous bildungsroman)
A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass (teen deals with synesthesia, which makes her see colours everywhere)
Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements (not entirely contemporary because it involves a boy-turned-invisible, but that's just a plot device and there's an awesome blind girl so...)
Feeling Sorry for Celia and Finding Cassie Crazy, both by Jaclyn Moriarty (awesome last name!) (written entirely in either letters or notes. really cool and hilarious.)
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson (this one's pretty scary and harrowing, but it has a very realistic depiction on anorexia nervosa.)
Falling into Place by Amy Zhang (also a bit depressing and harrowing but it has an unlikable main character (!) and non-linear timeline(!))
These are some of my favourite ones; you can also visit Loony Literate, I think the blogger (Emily) reads a lot of YA contemporaries so you might want to start there? :)
Perhaps I'll start reading some contemporary this year!!! I'll make sure to visit the blogger when I've time...if I have the luxury. But Things not seen sound great! I think I've heard it before...
