The Ranger’s Apprentice: The King of Clonmel (The Ranger’s Apprentice Series 8)

The Ranger’s Apprentice: The King of Clonmel
By John Flanagan
Are you ready for the new mission? The annual Ranger meeting is about to begin! Where will Will be? Will he change his fief, or will he stay at Seacliff? This seems to be too boring for such a talented, skilled ranger. We are about to reveal the next step of Will, and of course, this involves Halt…and Horace!!! And…Alyss as well…but I’m going to tell you why, let’s make it a surprise for you.
When a cult springs up in neighboring Clonmel, promising to quell the recent attacks by lawless marauders, people flock from all over to offer gold in exchange for protection. But Halt is all too familiar with this particular group, and he knows they have a less than charitable agenda. Secrets will be unveiled and battles fought to the death as Will and Horace help Halt in ridding the land of a dangerous enemy.
Well…I’ve already seat in front of the seat for this review for so long…but I couldn’t write a word… Don’t get me wrong, it is a great book…I’m just figuring out how to express my amazement in a different way. I love the first part of this story! The part that was about to decide Will’s fate…I just love it. And then what’s best, the heroes are going to team up again! They went to Clonmel to solve the problem of religious group. And during this journey, something bigger was inside the plan, which would reveal Halt’s past. As everyone knows, Halt came from Hiberlia, but what about his family? That all remain unknown. They went to discover the truth behind all of this, but the religious group kept running out of their sight. But with Halt’s experience and Will’s cunning plus Horace’s skillful sword, everything will turn out right? Wouldn’t they? However, when Halt step into Hiberlia once more, the problem he must face grow bigger, and more complicated. What’s worse…although Halt didn’t want to admit…he was not as young as he used to be anymore.
Now…time for new characters!!! But I must first apology for not knowing the name of those characters…since I haven’t buy the English version yet. So the first one will be the leader of this horrible religious group. He was smart and…selfish? He hired terrible assassin by his side, besides that, he tricked the village into believing his religion, which was a fake, a lie. With the villagers’ tribute, he got gold from them and was able to support all of his need. And with all those money…a country was in trouble. (I believe you know which country will be?) Next, our cowardly king of Hiberlia! Which was related to…? He wasn’t a good king, and he wasn’t even the rightful king of the throne. All he knew was having fun and fun and fun. Thank goodness he had his helpful niece beside him, so that his kingdom wouldn’t fall. But now, when the religious group’s trouble was coming, he had no idea how to solve it and that his kingdom’s fate might be change due to his useless.
So…I’m a bit speechless today…let’s all for The King of Clonmel! Hope you enjoy it…although this is kind of a terrible review. But the book is great, absolutely.
