The Princess Spy (Fairy Tale Romance Series)

The Princess Spy
By Melanie Dickson
(Fairy Tale Romance Series)
A new suitor.
A shocking discovery.
Here comes the fifth book! A great adaption of the Frog Prince. Actually, I'm not really familiar with this fairy tale story... I guest it's about a prince who was turn into a frog and asked a princess to kiss him? But I see little connection with this book...
Margaretha has always been a romantic, and hopes her newest suitor, Lord Claybrook, is destined to be her one true love. But then an injured man is brought to Hagenheim Castle, claiming to be an English lord who was attacked by Claybrook and left for dead. And only Margaretha-one of the few who speaks his language-understands the wild story. Margaretha finds herself unable to pass Colin's message along to her father, the duke, and convinces herself Lord Colin is just an addled stranger. Then Colin retrieves an heirloom she lost in a well, and asks her to spy on Claybrook as repayment. Margaretha knows she could never be a spy-not only is she unable to keep anything secret, she's sure Colin is completely wrong about her potential betrothed. Though when Margaretha overhears Claybrook one day, she discovers her romantic notions may have been clouding her judgment about not only Colin but Claybrook as well. It is up to her to save her father and Hagenheim itself from Claybrook's wicked plot.
Despite that I'm not familiar with the original fairy tale, this is quiet a good book. Margaretha is almost like a modern girl! She was dare to think things that perhaps it was forbidden in that period. Even she was the daughter of the duke, she didn't ack like she was a princess, commanding everything to be done, she was just as easy to be close to as normal people. I think The Princess Spy is the less connected title with the story cause the moment that Margaretha was a spy only take a few pages. The Princess Spy is actually a character made by Margaretha when she was tending an orphan. So don't be fooled by the title! She is dare, she is brave, but only a spy for few seconds!!!! The main story isn't about spying! Instead it's about great adventure between Colin and Margaretha! The plot is a bit mixed of The Fairest Beauty and The Captive Maiden, yet it also has a whole new story that will blow your mind! I believed this will be the last story about the Hagenheim family ( there'll be other book in this series, just the main character won't be in this family ) ( oh! And Colin also had connection with The Merchant's Daughter! A well unites story! Many character you seen before would appear again! ) So if you love than as much as I do, make sure to put this book in to-read list!
P.S I must shamefully admit that I was always finding Valten and Gisela when I read this book!!! (I love them so much!)
