Remember when I told you about the connection between books few review ago? Now here comes another! Book five and six are in pair! They are both about Will’s first mission when he became a true ranger. From what we learned from the last of the fifth book, Will escaped from the castle and determined to save Alyss from prison. Now, two of the most legendary heroes are about to team up and save their friend!!! Are you excited? I’m sure you are!
The kingdom is in danger. Renegade knight Sir Keren has succeeded in overtaking Castle Macindaw and is now conspiring with the Scotti. The fate of Araluen rests in the hands of two young adventurers: the Ranger Will and his warrior friend, Horace. Yet for Will, the stakes are even higher. For inside the castle, someone he loves is being held hostage. And now the time has come for this onetime apprentice to grow up.
Well…someone he loved…hum…that’s interesting. (Considering…) Oh of course Will would love her! They were so alike! Both smart and brave!!! Back to story…at the beginning of this book, Horace set off to the aid. And…I believe there is no need to say that he was also disguise. (Well…you just said it…) Never mind, when Will and Horace first met…that was so wonderful!!! Imagine you hadn’t seen your friend for a long time, and now both of you are going to work together, once again! How great!!!...if only Alyss was also here. But, smart as she was, Alyss managed to contact Will, in the way both couriers and rangers learned. And it was awesome!!! I learned it too!!! Perhaps one day it can be used…if I know anyone who read Ranger’s Apprentice as well. So then Alyss also knew that Horace became a helper to Will. But that’s not all of it…to break into the castle, according to Horace…you’ll need four times more people than your enemy. Where on earth can he found so many people? Especially under the name of…a poet. (Not exactly what he was, but still I believe the same…but how can you blame me? I read the Chinese version!!!) So that’s how smart Will was right? Making impossible things into possibility. And with the help of Malcolm, wizard once gain appeared, and that might be the key of defeating the Scotti. The scenes in this book are larger, and with the war coming, it also gets more and more exciting. It’s quite different from what we read in The Sorcerer of the North. The firth section mainly on how they discovered the secret, and the second book place the emphasis on battle and saving Alyss. And as you can also predict there will be interesting scene between Alyss and Will!!!
Now, I’m going to tell you some of the new figures in this book! Nils! The sailor on Gundar’s wolfwill. Why I specially mention him? Because he was going to have a scene with Horace, and that might become one of the most important part in the battle…and the future. Nils was umm…a vital sailor…I guess? on the wolfwill since he had a loud voice and well follow the commands. With all his well skill of using an axe, he would become the second hand of Horace. Then the lord, blablabla, sorry that I forgot his name…but we can read more about him and found out more about his seem-to-be-nice cousin, Sir Keren. One was always gloomy and the other was always delight to others. No wonder Sir Keren can take over the castle so easily. But then, both of their true nature will appear, and the lord would also be force to change after the battle. Then the Scotti! Well…I don’t remember them very well, but you know, they aren’t really so important. Although they were going to take down Castle Macindaw…they were not as good as those Temujai warriors who invaded Skandia. In fact, they were only here because of Sir Keren. So…what do you think how well they can perform? Of course not! They were only for money, not even Sir Keren can fully control them. Silly knight, never wonder what he brought.
Ready yourselves for the epic novel and enjoy once again into the wonderful world of Araluen!!! And anticipate for Will and Alyss!!!
